Efforts Aimed at Ama-no-hashidate’s Inscription on the World Heritage Tentative List
Goals and Efforts
Kyoto Prefecture, Miyazu City, Ine Town, and Yosano Town proposed to the national government that Ama-no-hashidate be made a candidate to be inscribed on its World Heritage Tentative List.
This proposal was evaluated, but Ama-no-hashidate was not chosen to be on the list. The evaluation recommended, "More preparations should be done to the proposal based upon the central concepts.”
We hope that by responding to these concerns and by deepening international understanding of Ama-no-hashidate we will soon receive an improved evaluation and Ama-no-hashidate will be inscribed on the World Heritage Tentative List.
