Kamogawa Park

Symbol of Kyoto Culture

The Kamogawa is the symbol of Kyoto, as well as Higashiyama. As a purified river, holy ceremonies are held here. Occasionally the rich colours of Yuzen dyes will float on the surface of the water, and its clean flow has been maintained for the lives of Kyoto’s people.

Kamogawa Park is arranged around the banks of the Kamogawa River. The green area which extends from north to south around the clear flowing river is beloved as a refreshing area in the heart of the city.
