This web site offers the features and policies of Kyoto Prefecture in English, Chinese, and Korean, so that the residents of the prefecture can get the information necessary for their daily life and foreign students can select Kyoto Prefecture as the place to study. Furthermore, foreign enterprises can obtain data to review enterprise locations and investment, whilst foreign tourists can obtain information for their visit. It will please me greatly if this web site can function as an informative source on Kyoto Prefecture and the charms it possesses.

Kyoto Prefecture makes use of its ’unique properties’ such as its wonderful nature and culture, placing emphasis on people and the prosperous exchange between them, progressing actively towards a ’human-centred’ society. As part of its internationalization strategy, Kyoto Prefecture is also progressing with plans to utilize foreign talent and etablish new relations between Kyoto and the rest of the world.

The watchwords for the creation of a new Kyoto are ’trust’ and ’ties’,and it is these ideas that will support our efforts towards our five-point vision.

  1. ’Kyoto for Learning and Rearing’, to bring up the children who carry the burden of the next generation through powerful human qualities and a vibrant life force.
  2. ’Kyoto for Health and Growth’, to encourage the development of a society where one can lead an enriched and healthy life in a homey environment.
  3. ’Kyoto of Vitality’, to develope of Kyoto industry, improve the labor environment, cooperate with universities and create further networks of interaction.
  4. ’Kyoto for the Creation of Environment and Culture’, to encourage the development of a region of individuality where rich environments and a new Kyoto culture are created.
  5. ’Kyoto of Peace of Mind and Security’, to encourage the development of a society where one can lead a stable day-to-day existence.

We will make progress in the realization of these goals in Kyoto through the wisdom and support of our residents.

Your support and cooperation in the above is highly appreciated.
