During a disaster you'll be unable to use the public transportation system, and you may have to walk home from work or other places. Please check first which is the best and safest road to travel home by. Check out emergency shelters near you! - It is important that you find the best route home or to an emergency shelter from work, etc. BEFORE a disaster occurs. Also, arrange with your family a division of duties, which emergency shelter you will use, and how you will contact each other. Help protect your local community! - Form a voluntary disaster prevention squad and prepare against disasters. Be sure to actively participate in disaster drills, too! Prepare emergency items! - Prepare water, dry goods, a radio, a flashlight, and other emergency equipment.
