Kyoto Hanatouro (Lanterns and Flower Lane)

(Higashiyama) Lanterns and flowers will decorate approximately 4.6 km from north Shoren-in to south Kiyomizu-dera. Various events are offered at the same time. At Maruyama-koen Park, visitors can enjoy the brook lighted with approximately 1,000 green bamboo garden lanterns "Bamboo Lanterns / Profound Stream", display of large ikebana arrangements in the lantern and flower path “Ikebana Promenade”, and an event of traditional Kyoto koto music and Japanese dance “Flower Stage”, will be performed at the special stage set up in Kodai-ji Temple Park.

Take city bus from JR Kyoto station to “Gojozaka”, “Kiyomizudo”, “Higashiyama Yasui”, “Gion”, “Chion-in Mae” for each places. To reach Shoren-in temple, take municipal subway Tozai Line to Higashiyama station and walk 10 minutes to the temple.
