Jukkoku-bune (Narrow Boats)

These houseboats carried passengers back and forth between Fushimi and Osaka from the Edo Period until early Meiji. Today they operate two boats here - the Hideyoshi and the Ryoma. The former is named after Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who carried construction materials to Fushimi to build his castle there. Today it is still fun to take a ride on these symbols of Fushimi.
