The Rurikei Ravine is about 4 km long at a continuous altitude of 500 meters. This natural park has been designated by the national government as a place of scenic beauty. Between "Meibaku", located downstream, and Tsuten Lake, at the furthest point upstream, are the so-called "12 Beautiful Spots of Ruri-kei", where you can enjoy hiking while looking at waterfalls and rock formations. And the Ruri-kei plateau, which spreads out above the ravine, features such facilities as a genuine plateau-type garden, a rock zoo and the Nepal Friendship House, along with sports facilities, the "Kobushi-so" lodging facility and the Ruri-kei Hot Spring. (You can spend a short time at this hot spring just to enjoy the baths for the day.)
