Ungan Park
Famous for its azaleas, this park has been selected as one of the "Best 100 Views in Kyoto." The annual Park Festival held on the Sunday that falls closest to April 10th attracts crowds of people who come to see some 5,000 mountain azaleas. The surrounding of fantastically shaped rocks are said to have been formed from clouds carrying the Buddhist god of wisdom, Monju Bosatsu.
