Fishing Industry Experience (Fixed Net, Dragnet, Squid Fishing)
At Honjohama, made famous by the Urashima Tarou (Japanese Rip Van Winkle) legend, you can experience fishing together with local veteran fishermen. The activities include fishing with the large scale fixed nets at Honjo inlet (All Year), collecting and trimming of 'wakame' seaweed (end of May), cage fishing, spear fishing by looking under the surface of the sea (May-August), squid fishing (June-July), scavenger hunting (May-August), ring net making, and Japanese glass fishing float net fishing. You can come to appreciate the wonders of the sea.
