The Uchiyama Mountain Range Beech Tree Grove

The largest Beech forest in Kyoto Prefecture with area of 40ha. It is part of the 'Tango Kamiseya Uchiyama Kyoto Prefectural Nature Conservation Area'. From Takaoyama Mountain to Tsuzumigadake the slopes extend 400m above sea level. Over 300 types of trees including Maples, hardwood trees, and Sawtooth Oaks grow naturally here. Nature study facilities are available at the 'Buna House'. It is a 64m2 wooden bungalow with floor elevated above ground level. Toilets are also available there.
