Kyoto Traditional Japanese Umbrella Workshop 'Hiyoshi-ya'
Hiyoshiya, located in Horikawateranouchi, has been dealing in Kyo-wagasa (Kyoto-style Japanese umbrellas), for over 100 years spanning five generations. This old establishment manufactures and wholesales all kinds of Japanese umbrellas, including honshiki-nodate-gasa used by the heads of the Omotesenke and Urasenke Schools of the tea ceremony, Bangasa, Janomegasa, Maigasa, Habutae and Japanese umbrellas used for display purposes.
