Orinasukan Handmade Fabrics Museum
The Orinasukan Handmade Fabrics Museum was established to inform large numbers of people about dyeing and weaving culture and industrial arts culture, with the focus on hand weaving. Materials and examples of work are exhibited in a space made up like the old section of town where textile weaving once flourished in the Nishijin quarter, complete with replicas of old traditional Kyoto houses. The museum is also used for such purposes as study groups, lectures and symposiums.
