Kyoto Shibori Craft Center, with its white walls and black latticed doors arranged in a modern style, is located near Nijo Castle. It consists of an art museum featuring traditional industrial arts of Japan and Kyokanoko Shibori, and an industrial arts hall containing a space where people can try their hand at shibori, the Japanese art of tie-dye. Works of shibori art, including frames and screens, are displayed monthly in the art museum, giving visitors the opportunity to experience firsthand the skills of Japanese artisans.
