Yamamoto Roketsu Dyeing (Craft Experience)
The Roketsu-zome Shokunin Taiken (Wax-Dyeing Artisan) Studio opened in 1999 in the Nishikyogoku district, utilizing techniques developed by artisans working "only with kimonos" for more than fifty years. Customers can try their hand using wax to make patterns on white cloth, dyeing the cloth, removing the wax and ironing it - and doing the whole thing by themselves.
