In Kyoto, there are many restaurants that specialize in the world renowned "Sushi".
Even if there is no English menu available, ordering sushi is easy. Just sit at the counter and let the sushi chef know what you would like by pointing to the ingredients displayed in the chilled glass case in front of you. One serving of sushi comes with two pieces. If ordering á la carte is troublesome, you can order moriawase for a selection of sushi. Moriawase is usually available in three types depending on the grade of the ingredients, and generally contains 6 or 7 pieces. If you come in conveyed - sushi restaurant, ordering is quite easy. Just taking your favorite dishes on conveyer.
