First general museum of manga in Japan, which opened in November 2006. Functions as a library, manga books can be read freely inside the museum. Saved manga materials are from precious history materials such as magazines in the days of Meiji era (1868-1912) up to current popular work, and overseas manga that rises to 300,000 materials. Workshops and seminars are being held and it is the new type of culture institution where you get to know everything about manga.

10:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM (Entry accepted until 5:30 PM)

Fee :

Adults 500 yen.

Closed :

Every Wednesday (following day if national holiday falls on Wednesday), Year End/New Year, maintenance period.

1 minute walk from Kyoto municipal subway Karasuma line / Tozai line “Karasuma Oike” station.
