The Uji-Kanbayashi Memorial House was once the home of Kanbayashi Shunsho, who provided tea to the Imperial Court and the shogunate. This tea museum is located near the Ho'o-do (Phoenix Hall) of Byodo - in Temple. Housed and exhibited at this museum are materials having to do with Shunsho's occupation, which were owned by his family. There is no charge to view the tea factory located about 1 kilometer from the museum.
