Adashino-nenbutsu-ji Temple
This temple is founded by Kobo Daishi to honour anonymous dead souls and is a symbol of the evanescence of life. During its well-known 'sento kuyo', a ceremony dedicated to the spirits of the dead, about ten thousands stone statues are lit up with candles.
