What to do if you have tested positive for the virus

For those who have tested positive for COVID-19 at a medical institution:

 1 Notification of the test result

You will be notified of your test result by the medical institute that you visited. In the case you  test positive, your local Public Health Center will contact you.

2 Guidance from your local Public Health Center

Your local Public Health Center will contact you and they will decide and organize your admission to a hospital or treatment at a recuperation facility.

Kyoto Prefecture currently operates recuperating facilities for, in principle, those who have tested positive but don’t need to be hospitalized or those who are asymptomatic, in order to avoid the infection of people close to you and to monitor any possible changes in your condition. For those who wish to receive treatment at a recuperation facility

3 Treatment

You will be treated at a hospital or a recuperation facility.

4 Finishing your recuperation at a facility

After your recuperation period has finished, you can go back to your daily life. Please continue to observe all the necessary practices of avoiding infection.
