’Kyoto Digital Canal Network’
Information-oriented society has developed quickly in recent years, and IT has penetrated every field, including education, medical, disaster prevention, industry, and public administration. The sheer amount of information has been increasing dramatically.
In order to respond to this situation, Kyoto Prefecture promoted the development the “Kyoto Digital Canal Network,” a foundation for the high-speed transmission of information. However, this system was completely renovated, and has begun operations as the “New Kyoto Digital Canal Network.”
The New Kyoto Digital Canal Network will support prefectural residents’ safety and peace of mind by contributing to the “informitization” of the region, increasing speed, allowing the dual-use of lines, and enhancing network reliability.
Current Usage Status of the Kyoto Digital Canal Network (April 12, 2010)
There are currently 138 organizations (94 cases) utilizing the Kyoto Digital Canal Network.
