• Kyoto Beef Miyabi was promoted at a Hong Kong sights and produce fair (YATA x Kyoto Fair 2018), held at the YATA Department Store in Hong Kong (January 26 – February 19, 2018).
• Demonstrations of shabu-shabu hotpot and teppanyaki using Kyoto Beef Miyabi were given to approximately 300 people including ambassadors to Japan at the "Kyo-aruki in Tokyo" Embassy Reception organized by Kyoto City and held in Happo-en in Shirokanedai, Tokyo (February 2, 2018).
• Kyoto Beef Miyabi was promoted at a Bon Odori dance festival organized by the Japanese Association in Thailand (December 16, 2017).

Origins of the name

•  “Miyabi” is a word that describes things that are sophisticated, beautiful and elegant, all of which also capture the essence of Kyoto, the old capital.
• The beef cattle chosen to be Kyoto Beef Miyabi are works of art that have been refined over many years through the use of outstanding technologies.
• The name “Miyabi” was chosen because it refers also to the idea of elegant flavors.

1. The beef cattle is of the Japanese Black variety
2. The animal is raised for the majority of its life within Kyoto Prefecture
3. The animal is fattened for at least one year at a specialized farm that is listed under the '"Kyo-no-kodawari" Kyoto's commitment to animal produce farms' register and is delivered from here
4. The meat is processed in a beef export certified facility
5. The meat has received the highest rank of carcass classification, either A-5,B-5or A-4,B-4standard, by the Japan Meat Grading Association
