Suntory Kyoto Brewery(Nagaokakyo City)

suntryEnjoy learning about beer production methods and sampling beer. (Free; reservation required.) Uses natural water from the Nishiyama mountain range to produce beer.

Yomiurishinbun Kyoto Factory(Yawata City)

Learn about the newspaper printing process from printing, through packaging, all the way to shipping out and distribution, as well as watch annotated videos. Watch from up close the installed printing press that can print out up to 180,000 copies every hour.

The Kids' Science Museum of Photons(Kizugawa City)

The first place in Japan to be themed around "light", providing entertainment and learning for both children and adults alike. The light video hall, laser laboratory show, photon lab are all popular.

Kansai Photon Science Institute 【KPSI】(Kizugawa City)

Research institute based in Kansai researching light and photos, including research into lasers. Here you can see and learn about 4 laser machines. Also organises special research and lecture meetings open to the public.
